Hyderabad: Make space for internship of engineering students at IT companies, and create relevant solutions and products that address top 10 priority needs for the people of the State, Jayesh Ranjan, Telangana Principal Secretary for IT told the members of Hysea (Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association).
He was speaking at the 31st Hysea Summit and Awards 2024 held in the city on Wednesday. After recollecting the achievements and contributions of C P Gurnani, former MD and CEO of Tech Mahindra, for Hyderabad’s IT ecosystem, who received the Lifetime Achievement award, Ranjan called for support from the IT companies in the city and members of Hysea under two function areas.
“The IT minister has spoken frequently about skill gap and talent needed that is not coming from the education system. The Hysea companies can provide engineering students in their last year with internships for four to five months, and let them work on live projects under guidance of senior staff as mentors. This will lead to that Government will have employable talent coming out of colleges, and Hysea companies will not have to train students after hiring freshers,” the Principal Secretary said.
Ranjan went on to talk about the government’s announcement of making internet accessible to all, which was also mentioned in Governor Tamilsai Soundararajan’s recent address. He said, “If internet data is made available to all then the resource has to be used for the benefit of the people such as students can use the internet to skill themselves, farmers for crop management, and so on. If Hysea members focus on developing top 10 priority needs and solutions to roll out, the government assures to support this initiative.”
Hysea, in partner with STPI (Software Technology Park of India) recognised IT and ITes companies for exports and employment in the financial year 2022-23. C P Gurnani, former CEO and MD, Tech Mahindra received the Lifetime Achievement award.
